The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This book is a fun way to help teach the life cycle of a butterfly and a great way for math practice in lower grades. The book starts off the the caterpillar hatching from the egg and eating all kinds of foods. The caterpillar then makes his cocoon, where he eventually emerges as a beautiful butterfly. I would use this book in my class as a way to review math and for science lessons on butterflies.
