Corduroy
This is a wonderful little book about a stuffed bear who wanted to be picked up from the toy store he was in. One day, a little girl wanted to buy him but her mother would not let her because he was missing a button. That night after everyone left, Corduroy the bear left his store in the mall to find his button. The security guard found him and returned him back to the toy store. The next day the girl comes back to buy him and take him to her home. There she sews on a button to his overalls and takes care of him. I would use this in my classroom for quiet reading time or to help teach acceptance.
